Why You Should Have A Cat Carrier For Kitty

Are you planning a trip and want to take kitty with you?  A cat carrier is a necessity in this case. You don’t need to necessarily get an expensive crate especially if you are going for short trips in the car like to the vet.  Find out why your kitty needs to be confined when in your car.

First, safety is a major concern.  If your pet is loose, a quick stop could cause him or her to be injured when slammed against a seat or worse, completely ejected from the car in an accident.  You might also get hit by the loose animal and injured. Another safety issue is that the cat could distract your from your driving.  One scenario is that kitty could catch sight of a dog while you are driving and panic.  Unrestrained animals can also make their way under your feet and cause braking or acceleration issues.  You may like having your pet in your lap, but remember that a deployed airbag could quickly end your pet’s life.

Secondly, comfort is important.  Cats actually feel more secure with their own familiar, enclosed space, especially when they are in strange situations.  They will be more comfortable and possibly sleep on longer trips.  They will be less likely to see something out the window like a dog that would cause panic.

Another issue is messes.  Unfortunately, some kitties get stressed when in the car.  Vomiting, urinating and bowel movements can be the result.  You will have an easier time cleaning up this type of mess from a pet carrier rather than carpeting in your cat.  You also may want to keep animal hair out of your car.

You also need to think about how you will get the cat out of the car and to your destination.  Kitty might not be easy to carry, especially if you are going somewhere like the vet.  You could end up with a missing cat if you can’t hang onto him or her.

If you have several animals that need to be transported at once, you will want carriers for all of them.  Then, you won’t have to worry about fights while you are trying to drive.  You also won’t have to worry about them hurting each other in case of an accident.

cat carrier is a necessity for your pet’s well-being and comfort as well as reducing messes for you to clean up.  The ride will be safer for the humans in the vehicle, too.
