Rabbits: These are like rodents but a little bigger than them. Kids love them because they can cuddle up with them and can play with them throughout the day. They also enjoy their exercise with the kids. Just be careful because it can get problematic to catch them. They can also chew your doors and cords so you cant leave them unwatched.

Apart from this, there are many chicks, kittens, pups and birds that an be kept as pets though they have their own sets of advantages and disadvantages. Do look at all angled before you make up your mind.
