How to Get a Parent to Buy You a Dog
So many kids have been through the same conversation with their parents and yet it continues to happen all over. And even if you mean it most often the response at first is absolutely not.
It is like a tradition for a kid to ask their parents for a pet and most usually a dog. And the discussion is generally the same, and it doesn’t make a difference where the scene takes place.
Probably what happens is the kid asks for a dog and the parent gives the standard response. Usually the answers are the same but with a different little twist depending on the situation.
But there are certain techniques that help you get that dog that you really want even if your parents first told you know. They know who is going to have to take care of it when you don’t want to.
One hurdle you have to overcome is the fact that your parents don’t really feel you are responsible enough to have a pet. So you have to prove you are up to the challenge.
A way to show that you can handle the responsibility is to demonstrate it through doing other things properly. Once you show that you can do other things properly than you will have more credibility.
You should make sure that you present it in a serious manner. If it comes across like it is just a joke then you might not be able to get the dog that you want.
Show you really care about having one by being very emotional about it and even cry about it if need be. Parents have a hard time seeing their kids cry and they don’t want them to be upset.
So those are some suggestions for you to consider during the process. Nobody can know precisely what the parents think but these are some things to test out when you can.
