Tip #1 Litter Box

Cats use litter boxes and it’s easy to train them where to go. Simply choose a place for the litter box like a bathroom or even the garage and show your cat where it is. It won’t take more than a day or two for your cat to realize where to do her business. After that, you simply need to keep the litter box clean by scooping it out every day and changing the litter at least once per week. This will keep the litter box smelling clean and allow your cat a fresh place to do her business.

Tip #2 Grooming

Cats have a lot of fur and it can easily shed and stick to carpet, clothes, and furniture. That’s the last thing you want so buy a nice brush and groom your cat weekly or as often as you like. Grooming your cat will keep their coat clean and shiny and it will greatly reduce the amount of hair your cat ingests while grooming herself. This means no hairballs, or smaller ones!

Tip #3 Healthy Diet

Cats need a healthy diet so be careful not to overfeed. Buy nutritionally balanced food and feed your cat once or twice per day. Leave a fresh bowl of water out at all times.

Tip #4 Tags and Collar

Your cat needs a collar and tags that include your cat’s name as well as your phone number and address. If your cat ever gets out and someone finds her then you know she will make it home.

Tip #5 Play

Cats may be solitary pets at times, but they also like to interact with you. So, no matter how busy or tired you are make sure you set aside some time each day to play with your cat.
