They are very necessary because it will be difficult when there is only a small opening to bring them through especially if they are a nervous horse or one that likes to act up. Every animal can learn these things and it is important to have ones that they are physically unable to open.

An untrained animal is not fun to try and catch when it gets out of the pen. A lot of people will run a string to electric fence across their entry way to the pasture so that if they do get it open, they will be too scared to run out. Some of them will go through regardless but most of them will not.

Not everybody is using this type of horse fence for an animal pasture though. Some people will use them to place at the end of their driveway to keep people out that do not belong in there. Other people may put them on a fenced in hay field so that they are able to fit their tractor through. Two of them can be put together so that the opening can be twice as large.

They can be painted so that they are matching the environment around it also. This is nice because they do not come in every single color and this way you will be able to match them with your barn and other fencing. Every area and store is going to have different options available to them depending on the company who is supplying that particular store.

These can be purchased from most of the stores that carry all of the farm or animal supplies. Most lumber companies are going to have them as well. There are a lot of uses for them and they are not only used on a big farm.
