Dressing Your Pet Up Is Not Fashionable It Is Stupid

There are many people out there that are dressing their pets up for no reason at all which is quite bizzare. It would seem that this has become a fashion within many dogs. Paris Hilton is easily the most famous celebrity that does this as she is always buying her dog Tinkerbell new clothes for it to wear. How far before what you are doing to this pet actually goes beyond being nice and turns into being a bit cruel?

Well my personal opinion is that clothes on a dog look ridiculous and just make the dog look unnatural and stupid. The only dogs that people tend to dress up are the small ones that look more like small rats than a proper dog. Why are people always dressing their pets up?

A lot of the time people do it for competitions. The one problem is that many companies are encouraging this by holding fashion shows so its not really going to improve.

It is acceptable to dress your dog in a coat if it is cold because otherwise the animal could actually catch a cold which really could end up hurting the animal. All of these kionds of dogs would not be able to survive in the wild which could be why the people dress them up, they are more like fashion accessories than pets to many people.

The RSPCA are against this as well as they are saying that if you go too far it can be counted as being cruel to the animal. This is a very good idea as many people put their dogs in little boots which could of course damage the legs of the animal. Before you know it the pet could have to have one of those vet referrals for something like animal dermatology or even animal ophthalmology.

One of the best things you can do here is to just sit down and have a think, does the dog actually need to be wearing any of this. Although a coat can benefit the dog in the winter, hats and shoes will not so do not use them.
