Dog Breeders Can Work Against You and Not For You At Times
Before you purchase your 16 year high maintenance, eating, pooping, action packed mammal, please do your homework. Before you purchase your 16 year high maintenance, eating, pooping, action packed mammal, please do your homework. Know exactly what type of a dog you want, what energy level fits yours and choose a breed that won’t herd or nip instinctually at your children.
If you have never been a dog owner before and this is your first time, please do your homework. Do not just go by the fact that the dog looks cute to have it in your life.
Dogs have been trained by man to do a variety of jobs. It is money-hungry humans that found a way to make cash off selling you whatever breed you want. In the 1970s the government advised people to do dog breeding and selling to add to their incomes.
You should see the dog in its home with their mother and father. Their environment needs to be very clean and all the dogs need to be strong and healthy. Also is the breeder nice and knowledgeable about the dogs? He should be. Also, he needs to have socialized the puppies since they were first born not just with other dogs, but also with people. The pups should also have been checked by a veterinarian and have their first round of vaccinations. The breeder should provide you with some dog food to start you off and his phone number in case you have any questions after you get home.
The breeder needs to be elated that he has you to take his puppy and also that he had the puppy that is right for you! Do not buy a puppy only because you feel sympathy for its living conditions, this will just make the breeder make more of them. If all you are seeing are sick puppies run don’t walk! Make a report to the SPCA locally so this organization can check out the situation.
You can also go as far as asking who the breeder uses as a vet, call them up and ask how these people care for their animals. Now once again, I see far too many people who have been duped and are living an emotional hell with the wrong dog for them. The wrong dog will have you in tears, feelings inadequate, guilty, exhausted and angry. You will question yourself every single day for years. This is exactly the opposite reason you brought a dog into your life.
Ask a lot of questions of the breeder and he should also ask you some questions. You should feel honored that he would let you have his fine dog. I am serious!
