Chicken Swimming

Can Chicken Swim

In a small village outside of Sussex I have a small farm. Last weekend I was wondering if chicken could actually swim. I know ducks can but I have never seen a chicken swim. I have two swimming pools in between the farm and the house, one for family use and another for the ducks. Well the duck one is not really a swimming pool it’s just a pond to be honest. I just wanted to see other than laying eggs and running can they be good at anything else?

So just like the lady in this video I took one of my chickens and threw it into the pond. And they do indeed can swim but as you can see they want to get away from the water as soon as they can. By the way make sure you clean your pool with swimming pool chemicals and swimming pool filters after the chicken is thrown for personal use of course. You don’t want to swim in a dirty pool do you?

I know this is a crazy post but did you know chickens could swim? May be one or two of you might have known about this but for most people this is the first time they actually knew about it. Recently I asked my friend if chicken could swim. He said he did try it once but his chicken started to drown. Thankfully the chicken survived. Though it was a bad experience because she was in the process of laying eggs.

By the way I am not saying to try this with your chickens and throwing them into a pond. This post is just to give you an information on if chickens can swim or not. Chicken is best at when they are used for such as meat and eggs. This article is just informational.
