An Off-The-Wall Approach to Finding Discount Dog Food

If you have the energy to hunt for discount dog food you can save a lot of money. However this is usually not very easy to do and it does require some work on your part.

Here are five ways to find discount dog food that you may not have thought of before but ones that can save you a ton of cash.

1. Close to Expired

Buying pet products that are just recently expired or close to being expired can be a great way to save a lot of money. Many grocery stores and pet stores lose money whenever they have bags of food expire. Many of them will willingly give you a big discount if you simply ask the manager for them.

2. Bulk Purchases

By buying your pet food in bulk you can also save a lot of money as well. If you don’t have a lot of dogs you may want to go in with several neighbors as well. One way to help make this food last longer is to always keep it refrigerated so it will stay good past its expiration date.

3. Farm Stores

Local farm stores and ranch stores generally sell dog food cheaper and in larger bags. This means you get a lot more for the dollar then buying it at a pet store or a grocery store.

4. Co-ops

By joining a local co-op you can also have access to discounted products as well. Just like with farm and ranch stores, co-ops generally by their pet food in bulk.

5. Promotions

Be sure to take advantage of local promotions and sales. By combining coupons with these promotions you can usually double what you would normally save by just using a coupon alone.

These are just a few ways that you can find discount dog food. If you use your imagination, you could probably come up with a lot more. But these are the main ones that I tend to use.
